Rapt/Wrapped Women 1985-Present

For over 30 years, I have made these wrapped/rapt women, small sculptures that speak to the complex and often contradictory history of both subjugation and adoration by men and the idea that we are often ‘rapt’ in that gaze. Contained in their paradoxical images are the ambiguities of being bound as well as determined.  These women, though constrained, burst with power.
