In a silent place within us we become connected to a greater awareness where visions, dreams and revelations speak to us in their own symbolic language. The ‘stuff’ of that place is the prima materia of abstract art. The artist takes that raw material, pokes it, pulls it, paints it, burns it, bangs it, draws on it, rubs it out, and works it again until finally the original ‘stuff’ reappears transformed into an object with a life of its own which might awaken, remind, change and heal the viewer.
